Fire Resistant Shutters are an excellent choice for installation between a
kitchen servery and dining area. The concealed motor unitmakes them unobtrusive
due to their and comparatively small box housing. They have been designed
specifically with this type of environment issue in mind. A manual override
mechanism & battery back-up is there when power fails is fitted as
standard.
They are constructed from a traditional steel slat and are operated
electrically via a 240v single-phase electric motor unit to provide a
controlled descent in the event of fire. Connection through our standard
Control Panel and to an existing Fire Alarm or Smoke/Heat detector system to
enable automatic closure is made possible. Audio/Visual Warning Systems to
inform imminent closure of a Fire Shutter to personnel within the vicinity are
also available at an additional cost. The finish is galvanised with Polyester
Powder Coat paint finish in a standard/stock BS4800 or RAL range colour
available at an extra cost. We at Herts Roller Shutters compliment our range of
Fire Resisting Roller Shutters, we are also able to supply and install a range

Brentford primary school's roof is
on fire
hounslowchronicle.co.uk - August 15th 2013
The roof of St. Paul's CE Primary School was badly damaged by a fire just
moments after children at a summer school in the building were evacuated to St.
Paul's church opposite.
Eight fire engines from Acton, Ealing, Chiswick, Richmond, Fulham, Hammersmith
and Heston fire stations were at the scene using two aerial ladder platforms.
Around 50 - 60 firefighters and officers worked quickly to put the fire out.
The school said builders had been installing a skylight and realised smoke was
coming from the roof. The summer camp at the school were told to get out of the
building immediately and called the fire service.
Rev Derath Durkin is the team vicar for the area. She said: "I came down
here straight away and there was so much smoke, luckily nobody was
hurt."

intruder alarm activated and police arrived on the scene in three minutes. He

Traders asked to think twice about
security shutters
thisislincolnshire.co.uk - November 07th 2012
Owners of businesses in Boston are being warned that if they have not sought
the necessary planning permission then they are encouraged not to risk wasting
money on new steel security shutters for their premises.
Boston Borough Council has recently had to halt work at two shops where roller
shutters were being installed without permission, and even worse, on one shop
the shutters have since been removed.
Councillor Derek Richmond, of Boston Borough Council said "The council
does understand that shop keepers might be worried about how they secure their
stock so officers are on hand to advise on the numerous types of measures that
could be available some without needing planning permission."
"We don't want the town centre to begin to look as if it is closed for
business it needs to remain attractive, encouraging and safe at all
times of the day and night."
